Aya no Mori matcha from Kanbayashi Shunsho is an excellent entry point into the world of traditional Uji tea, perfect for both daily drinking and those new to matcha. This approachable usucha (thin tea) offers a smooth, full-bodied experience with subtle notes of dark chocolate and a pleasant astringency that doesn't overwhelm.

Kanbayashi Shunsho's legacy spans 450 years in Uji, Japan. Now in its 15th generation, this prestigious tea house continues to balance time-honored traditions with modern innovation. 

Choose between a 100 gram can or 40 gram box below.  A typical serving for usucha is 2 grams, while a typical serving for a matcha latte is 4 grams.

This is a flavorful, everyday usucha with a rich, full-bodied taste. It combines creamy, slightly nutty, and lightly toasted notes, followed by a long-lasting, full-bodied aftertaste.

Compared to the 'Usucha Ryo no Kage' below it in the lineup, it has a fuller and mellower flavor.

For the best taste, use water at 85°C (185°F), as lower temperatures may make the tea bitter.
